iPhone 4 Pre-Order: Shipping before iOS 4 download

By Gary Johnson - Jun 20, 2010

June 24th is fast approaching and the waiting for the new iPhone 4 is almost over for those who managed to get a pre-order via Apple’s online store or AT&T. Macrumors.com is reporting that some of its readers have received shipment notifications and FedEx tracking numbers.

Some of the notifications have a “Delivers By” date of June 23rd which is a day earlier than the official day, but Apple have in the past been known to artificially delay ship times to meet the worldwide launch date.

But there is some more worrying news as there have been reports that some customers have been receiving emails from AT&T and Apple saying that their pre-orders have been canceled. Gizmodo.com have several readers complaining about their orders have been canceled and their credit cards have not been charged.

One email from Apple was as follows, Dear Customer,

We were unable to complete the authorization process for your iPhone order. As a result, we had to cancel your iPhone order. To complete the purchase of your iPhone, please visit an Apple Retail Store or an AT&T company-owned retail store.
We apologize for this inconvenience.
Sincerely,
Apple Online Store Team.

So it would be a good idea to check your inbox or your order status. Let us know if you have received an email from Apple or AT&T.
