Motorola have recently revealed their software upgrade schedule for a wide-range of their Android-based smartphones, these plans have revealed that the Motorola CLIQ and Backflip will both be receiving updates to Android 2.1 Ecalir.
The Motorola CLIQ was launched back in October 2009, since it’s release it has not seen any OS updates, therefore is still stuck with the dated Android 1.5 Cupcake OS, however Motorola have stated that CLIQ’s in the U.S (including the CLIQ XT) will get an upgrade to Android 2.1 in Q2 2010.
The Backflip launched in March 2010 and came out of the box with Android 1.5 Cupcake, Motorola have stated that Backflip’s in the U.S. will receive an upgrade to Android 2.1 sometime in Q3 2010.
If you have a Motorola Droid and have not yet received the over-the-air update to Android 2.1 Motorola say that you should go to Menu, Settings, About phone and System updates, this should then pick up the update.
