Google Earth for the iPad was finally released yesterday, and some are even claiming it to be the best application for the iPad yet. Even though there is no new interface, or prominent new feature, just using it on Apple’s tablet brings an amazing experience.
Google made a good decision, and rather than developing a standalone iPad app, they have decided to just add it to the app store for you to update to the latest version.
Let me put it this way, the previous iPhone only version was not what everyone expected. The interface was slow and clunky, and the screen was far to small to justify it as a go-to app for information about a store that you wanted a phone number from, or needed directions to.
This is where the iPad shines, with it’s 10-inch high-res screen, you get the full experience right on your lap. Hey, you even look past the fact it is missing some features from the desktop version, such as the ability to see buildings in 3D, and landmark tours.
But one thing we will say is try it for yourself, and see exactly how much potential this app has, and how it can benefit you. Once you have downloaded the app and tried it for yourself, come tell us how good (or bad) you think it really is.
