USA Vs England World Cup: Twitter Outage Warnings

Are you ready for tonight’s massive game between England and USA at the 2010 FIFA World Cup? We hope you are not planning to use Twitter during the event, as we are hearing reports that the website could suffer an outage.

As reported from the AFP, Twitter has warned that the website could go down as a result of heavy traffic – mainly caused by the tournament in South Africa.

There is no doubt that tonight’s game between USA and England will be watched by millions, with tons of users wanting to share their opinions on the game with others.

Jean-Paul Cozzatti, a Twitter engineer had this to say on the possible outages during the match: “You may still see the whale when there are unprecedented spikes in traffic.”

Just so you know, he is talking about the whale which rarely appears on the website whenever the site does go down.
