Microsoft planning 3D Xbox 360 ‘Soon’ – Blitz Games

By Alan Ng - Jun 11, 2010

Some exciting news for Xbox 360 owners now, as Andrew Oliver, joint owner of studio Blitz Games has hinted that Microsoft are planning to announce their plans for 3D gaming, ‘soon’.

By soon, does he mean E3? As reported from VG247, Oliver was speaking at a recent event in London, adding that it is only a ‘matter’ of time until Microsoft drop the bomb on their 3D capabilities.

Here is what he had to say on the matter: “3D does take a bit of extra work. Microsoft are going to be making an announcement about it at some point soon. Our game did come out in 3D on the Xbox 360, so 3D is possible, even through an HDMI 1.2 cable.”

The timing of his words is a little suspect don’t you think? Maybe he knows something that we don’t. It would be nice if Microsoft are planning a 3D announcement at E3, although it wouldn’t be too much of a shock if they did.

Let us know your thoughts on this – do you think it will happen? There is more from Oliver through the link.
