WWDC 2010 Predictions: Bored? What’s new?

By Jamie Pert - Jun 6, 2010

With WWDC 2010 kicking off tomorrow I must admit I am getting quite bored of all of the event predictions, lets face it, it is pretty much a full gone conclusion that we will see an AT&T-branded fourth generation iPhone unveiled, called either the iPhone 4G or the iPhone HD.

This handset will probably run iPhone OS 4.0, which will no-doubt be rolled-out for other Apple devices, such as the iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch.

But will Apple shock us by unveiling any other impressive devices or software? We could perhaps see a new Mac mini, lets face it a refresh is needed as HDMI output is currently missing.

If you check out a recent post on TheAppleBlog you can see a long list of WWDC 2010 predictions, they have been put into useful categories.

These categories are “For Sure”, “Maybe”, “No Chance” and “Dreams”, Weldon Dodd (who wrote the article) believes that we will definitely see iPhone OS 4.0, iPhone OS 4.0 for iPad, a new fourth generation iPhone and tethering.

There is also a possibility that Apple will unveil an updated version of their Apple TV, speculation suggests that this may run a version of iPhone OS and will support 1080p video playback, if this is true Apple will probably call it Apple TV HD.

Apple could also unveil a new version of their popular portable media player the iPod Touch, perhaps it will feature a camera and a larger capacity. Finally there is a chance that Apple could update their Mac Pro range, Dodd drools over the idea that it could feature six-core Xeons.

If you would like to find out more about Weldon Dodd’s WWDC 2010 predictions I would strongly suggest reading his fully detailed article here.
