HTC Scorpion: Android 2.2 Froyo – Verizon Release Date Update

By Alan Ng - Jun 4, 2010

It is hard to keep up with the amount of handsets that HTC seem to be churning out at the moment. We have details on another HTC handset now, rumored to be landing on Verizon Wireless this year.

According to BGR, this handset is the HTC Scorpion and will be packing Android 2.2 Froyo and a 1.5Ghz Snapdragon processor.

The interesting thing here, is that the handset was first discovered back in February and was thought to be heading to Sprint, not Verizon. However fresh details from a well informed community hacker reveals that the Scorpion will actually be releasing on Verizon.

BGR also hint that the device may have support for dual-modes, which would explain how this handset may end up on more then one carrier in the U.S.

We’ll let you know when we get more details on this mysterious device. Let us know your initial thoughts on the Scorpion. Do you like the name?

  • I see this as the fact that technology has made it's lines in the sand, It was bound to happen eventually, it will seperate our current culture in a no holds barred battle. It was a sublime sequence of events that lead up to today's WWDC , Really now SJ having some ones door kicked down to find a phone? I recommend finding the total package, network, customer service, device.

what does that even mean dude? I really hope this phone features a front faced camera since the iPhone has made that a big deal for everyone now…

is this information really necessary? Or is this just some flimsy attempt to grab some attention away from to EVO's launch? I see this type of sleazy behavior from Verizon all they time.
