NBA 2K11: Cover with Michael Jordan now Confirmed

By Gary Johnson - Jun 3, 2010

We reported last week about the rumor of Michael Jordan appearing on the front cover of NBA 2K11 when it is released on October 5 2010. It has now been confirmed by the games developers that the Chicago Bulls legend will be on the cover of the game when it launches.

Brett Molina of USAToday is reporting the appearance of Michael Jordan is a rare occurrence, as NBA licensing deals did not include the rights to use Chicago Bulls star’s likeness. So far full details of how Jordan will be used are not known, but he will play an “integral part” in the games options.

Michael Jordan himself said in a statement that “It’s an honor to be featured on the cover of NBA 2K11”, “I have no doubt that NBA 2K11 will be a big hit with gamers and basketball fans alike. I’m looking forward to getting back out onto the court, virtually. Let’s hope they get my dunk from the foul line right.”
