Verizon Wireless Apple iPad: Testing In Progress, LTE Release Soon?

By Jamie Pert - Jun 2, 2010

So far if you want a 3G capable Apple iPad and live in North America you must agree a deal with AT&T, however some of our readers are less than convinced by their data coverage, therefore it is no surprise to hear that consumers are looking for an alternative.

Well, according to a recent article posted on BoyGeniusReport an alternative could well be on it’s way, apparently Verizon Wireless are currently testing a CDMA-compatible iPad, which could perhaps offer LTE connectivity (Verizon’s answer to 4G).

There are lots of consumers out there that want an Apple iPhone to be available on Verizon’s network, perhaps if a Verizon iPad is released Apple will see that the future of the iPhone is Verizon’s arguably superior network.

I believe that the next year or so will be huge for AT&T and Verizon Wireless, if Apple devices land on Verizon it could spell trouble for AT&T, alternatively if AT&T make improvements to their network, they could reduce the craving for a Verizon iPhone/iPad.

As we hear more about a possible Verizon Wireless iPad we will keep you posted, for more details check out the source link below.
