Motorola Shadow (Droid): Won’t ship with Android 2.2 Froyo?

By Alan Ng - Jun 2, 2010

For those of you who have been keeping a close eye on developments for the upcoming Motorola Shadow handset, we have some particularly interesting details to share with you now.

As reported from Phandroid, a Verizon insider has posted a message over at HowardForums, stating that the Motorola Shadow, due to land on Verizon soon – will most likely ship with Android 2.1 Eclair, not 2.2 Froyo as some were hoping.

The insider added that Verizon are testing the device with 2.1 and he also reveals that the device will feature a custom version of MOTOBLUR, thought to be known as ‘Ninja Blur’. Apparently, Motorola’s interface will run silently in the background on the Shadow – other details on Ninja Blur are unknown at the moment.

What are your thoughts on this? The big deal here is no 2.2 out of the box of course. Nothing has been confirmed yet though, so there still might be hope that the Shadow, or Droid Extreme as it has also been called, will ship with Froyo.

We’ll update you when we know more.

Could be great if they will explain more about its procs. Actually, this was rumored to be the nexus two prototype design, which turn out to be a hox. Reactions.

Okay… is this the same as the one with Ninja Blur??

Why does the article at droidlife say no blur… I thought there was Blur on it… just a more discrete version.
