Memorial Day Sale 2010 at Best Buy

By Peter Chubb - May 31, 2010

Today is Memorial Day 2010, which is a federal holiday in the U.S. and is a time for us to honor those soldiers who have during conflict. Those who have lost family members will celebrate today, but also stores like Best Buy will also celebrate the day, but in a different way – by offering up sales for shoppers to take advantage off.

It does seem sad that retailers will use any event to offer huge discounts – but I suppose that is just business. Do not expect huge savings on items – that will have to wait until Black Friday later this year. The Memorial Day sale at Best Buy goes on for two days, which started yesterday, Sunday May 30 and goes on until today, Monday, May 31 2010.

While visiting the stores website you will see that there are savings to be made on items such as cameras and camcorders, TV, video and audio, GPS and car accessories, computers, home appliances, cell phones, office products and so much more.

One deal that stood out for me was when you purchase a MacBook or MacBook Pro, you will not receive a discount – but you will get a $25 iTunes voucher for your trouble. Most of the deals that I can see are just for free shipping, but I have spotted a great deal on a SmartParts SP15MWA digital photo frame. The original selling price was $299; Best Buy is offering the device for just $119.99, that’s a saving of $180.
