New iPhone 4G in 2010: Nearly had AMOLED screen

Some interesting details have emerged recently regarding the upcoming iPhone 4G handset, as it has been reported that Apple was looking into the idea of using AMOLED technology for the iPhone 4G display screen.
As reported from Apple Insider, an interview published with Digitimes analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that Apple were in solid discussions with Samsung, over the possibility of using active matrix OLED panels.
However, supply issues were seen as one major issue for the backtrack on AMOLED, meaning that Apple decided to stick with their LCD IPS display for the upcoming iPhone.
Ming-Chi Kuo adds that AMOLED technology also has display weaknesses and that it may not be suitable for Apple at the moment.
