NBC and Time Warner: Sticking With Adobe’s Flash

By Posted 27 May 2010, 20:14

On the day that Apple discovers they are now the most valuable tech company, they now have to deal with some not so good news. We have reported in the past of Apple’s and Adobe’s ongoing spat regarding Flash and video content on the web.

Today Claire Atkinson of the New York Post is reporting that several media companies that include NBC and Time Warner, have decided that ditching Flash would be too expensive as they would have to reformat their vast video libraries.

With other iPad type devices being released soon by Hewlett-Packard and Dell, and the future launch of Google TV that will allow for video content to be viewed on TVs, weakens Apple’s hold on the media companies.

The fact that at the moment the companies are refusing to cave in to Steve Jobs and Apples demands will mean this battle has a long way to go yet.
