HTC EVO 4G: Root Video before Release Date

Some breaking news to bring you now, as it has been confirmed that the HTC EVO 4G handset has been fully rooted, just days away from the June 4th release date on Sprint’s network.

As reported from BGR, a video has popped up over on YouTube, showing the process in action. At the moment, full details of the root have not been disclosed, but you can bet that further info on the root will become available this week.

So what does this mean exactly? Well, it means that hackers now have access to the full phone – i.e – they are able to create custom roms for the HTC EVO as they please, which means that a custom Android 2.2 Froyo update could be available before HTC releases it officially.

Exciting news for phone owners across the globe perhaps, but a headache for HTC and Sprint. Let us know your thoughts on this. Do you think a patch will be made available before release?
