Archos 7 Home Tablet Shipping Early: Review

For those of you who were waiting for the release of the Archos 7 Home Tablet next month, we can now tell you that the device is now shipping. We are not certain why Amazon have started to ship the device early – but that does not matter.
Engadget picks up on the fact that this tablet is three hundreds dollars cheaper than the Apple iPad, which means that you pay just £199. We know that it will never compete with the iPad, but you still get a tablet device that is a superb media player along with Android 1.5 OS.
Engadget advise that you read their full review of the Archos 7 Home Tablet before you decide to part with your $200. Things do look fine to begin with, such as its half-inch thickness and its 7-inch touchscreen display – but things do go a bit wrong from there.
The first is its lack of accelerometer and its annoying resistive touchscreen – jut like the LG Viewty, and we all know how annoying that can be. For more details read Joanna Stern’s full review on Engadget or watch a hands-on video
