New Facebook Virus: ‘Sexiest Video Ever’ – Details on How To Avoid

By Jamie Pert - May 19, 2010

Each week there seems to be a new security risk associated with Facebook, this time it is not regarding security and privacy settings, however could lead to personal data being collected, which may be useful to hackers.

If you receive a message on your Facebook wall reading “this is without doubt the sexiest video ever! 😛 😛 :P” (the video itself is titled “Candid Camera Prank [HQ]”) do no click on this, if you do attempt to watch the video you will be asked to download and install an application, this application is infact malware, which will have adverse affects on your day-to-day computing.

Currently no known action has been taken by Facebook, however I am sure that they will do their utmost to bottleneck the security risk, in the mean-time I would recommend using the latest version of your web browser, perhaps even think about using Google Chrome as it has recently been dubbed ‘unhackable; at this year’s Pwn2Own contest.

If you scroll to the end of this post you can see a video which shows the infection in action, if you think that you may have already been infected be sure to uninstall Hotbar and carry out a full system scan with your antivirus software.
