HTC Hero Android 2.1 (Eclair) Update: Now Officially Available on Sprint’s Website

In a previous post, we mentioned that the Android OS 2.1 update was ready for your HTC Hero to consume, but was not available on Sprint’s support pages at time of writing.

To download the update, all you need to do is head on over to Sprint’s website and follow the steps which will allow you to make your HTC Hero feel all brand spanking new again.

If you are still unsure of how you can update to the latest version, a video guide can be found in one of our previous posts here.

Have you downloaded the Android OS 2.1 update? If so, have you experienced any problems?

Very slow text input response. HTC, Sprint say they know of the problem not sure what to do. Might go back to 1.5 but they say it might get worse. Of four HTC Hero phones two got very slow. I can't text fast enough to know the difference.

Thank you for the great article, I’m very excited. I’ve had my phone for just over a month now and am in point of fact taking part in all of the loose apps from the android market, with the ability to have the internet and navigation at my fingertips all the time. The only not up to concept feature is the image/video textual content messages, as they aren’t downloading properly.
