Verizon HTC Droid Incredible: High Demand Since Release

The HTC Droid Incredible is undoubtedly one of the phones to own in the current market, and it seems that demand is so high, that phone carrier Verizon are reporting that shipments are selling out.

In a previous post, we named the top 10 Android phones with the Droid Incredible topping the list at #1. And by the looks of things, we were not wrong.

Demand is so high for the handset, that the Verizon HTC Droid Incredible shipments to stores are all sold out within a matter of hours, and Verizon are having a hard time in keeping up with the demand.

According to Verizon Wireless CEO Loweel McAdam, the reason that Verizon cannot keep up with the demand is due to shortages for the phones OLED display, which is sourced from Samsung Electronics.

This is pretty harsh on the HTC Incredible, as it had a fantastic opening weekend which managed to shift around 100,000 units in two days.

Have you been able to get yourself a HTC Incredible? Or are you one of the unlucky ones who cannot seem to get one due to the shortages?

    Ordered the incredible today 6/8 from Verizon and was told that they are on backorder and I should have in 3 weeks. Hope its worth waiting for :)

    got it and LOVE IT!!! ordered mine on the 6th (JUST before the major shortage) and got it on the 11th. i can't believe verizon underestimated the demand for this device. as popular as the moto droid is…how did they NOT foresee this kind of demand for their newest droid???? and they've handled the whole mess terribly. check out the forums on verizon and htc….and it will nearly scare anyone off from buying it!!

    Ordered my Incredible on 5/11/10 .. rec'd an e-mail order confirmation from Verizon within minutes…. when checking on the order status via a link in this e-mail… am told that I should receive it in about 2 – 3 business days. Called and spoke to Verizon Wireless on-line Customer Support…….and they didn't know or understand why I got that…and still show that it will not ship UNTIL 5/29/10. I live in Va. and have been told that I'm considered in the Northeast… if I lived in NC… I would ship by 5/26/10. Not sure what's going on.. seems that their own customer support folks are in the dark.
