We have some great news for football fans on Vodafone who are planning to head to South Africa for this year’s FIFA World Cup, as the network has announced how you’ll be able to save money whilst abroad.
As reported from T3, Vodafone has announced that UK customers will be able to call home using your mobile at normal rates, as the network will waive the heavy roaming costs during the tournament.
Vodafone are calling it their ‘Passport Promotion’, and it will run from June till July. You’ll still have to pay a 75p connection charge, but after that – normal UK phone rates apply.
For those of you who prefer texting, you’ll also be pleased to know that texting home to the UK will cost you the standard rate of 11p – great news.
It isn’t nice when you return home to find a staggering mobile phone bill, so full credit to Vodafone here. More details through the link.
