So far details regarding Android 2.2 FroYo’s functionality have been pretty scarce, however a recent screen posted on SlashGear seems to suggest that Android 2.2 can act as a WiFi hotspot as well as offering USB tethering.
If you configure your Android 2.2 device as a WiFi hotspot you are essentially cutting out the need for a device such as a MiFi router, however you will have to check your data plan allowance with your carrier beforehand.
Carriers may decide to add an additional charge to your agreement to allow this functionality, however it is a perfect way to connect your non 3G iPad to the Internet.
Next week Google I/O 2010 will be taking place, experts believe that FroYo will be debuted there, therefore I am sure we will hear more about the tethering and WiFi, when we hear more we will jeep you informed, for more details check out the link below.
