Xbox 360 and PS3 price cuts at E3 2010?

By Alan Ng - May 12, 2010

If you are planning to pick up either a PS3 or Xbox 360 console from Summer onwards, we have some great news for you. It has been reported that both Sony and Microsoft are planning to announce further price cuts for their respective consoles.

As reported from VG247, the news has come via MCV, who have cited a ‘senior global publishing source’ for their information.

They state that it is ‘likely’ that Sony will introduce a new price point of £200 for the PS3 console at entry level. Meanwhile, an Xbox 360 price cut to coincide with the release of Project Natal in October is also thought to be very likely.

Both announcements of these price cuts could be made at E3 in June. Let us know your thoughts on this. Do you think this is likely or not? We can definitely see the 360 price slashed, not so sure about the PS3 Slim – maybe fat.

Yeah I like this because I am having my 8th grade graduation this year and if a ps3 is $200.00 I'm getting it!

    • Just so you know, that says 200 pounds (as in British currency). That equates to about $300 of US dollars. We're already at that price point now. However, if Sony does make a price cut to the PS3 this year, they will bring it down maybe $50, so we might be looking at $250 for a 120GB Slim and $300 for a 250GB Slim. That would definitely spur an increase in sales.
