Following on from the rumors that Apple may be planning to announce a cloud-based version of iTunes at WWDC 2010, we are hearing reports that the service may go head-to-head with the U.S version of Spotify – which is edging closer to a release.
As reported from Apple Insider, Apple’s current cloud-based service is due to close on 31st May, which is just days away from the start of WWDC on June 7th. This has led to rumors that the company are planning a web-based version of iTunes – which they will unveil during the event.
It is no secret that a U.S version of popular streaming service Spotify has been on the cards for some time, with numerous delays already occuring over licensing. However, the latest rumors are suggesting that the software could debut as early as Summer, meaning that it could go head-to-head against Apple’s new cloud-based iTunes.
