Sprint HTC EVO 4G: HTC Employees Say Release Date Prediction is Viable

By Posted 5 May 2010, 16:22

For those of you eagerly anticipating the release of what has been labeled ‘the new holy grail’ of smartphones – the Sprint HTC Evo 4G, rumors have appeared on the Internet pointing towards a June 13 release – a rumor that has not been quashed by the HTC employees.

In a previous post we first revealed the release date to be scheduled for June 13. But since that post, the rumors have continued to be passed around the Internet with HTC not confirming or denying that it is indeed true or false. Infact, HTC employees have stated via views and comments that the rumored June 13 date seems to be a very viable prediction.

More apparent news has also come to light, which say that when the HTC Evo finally gets its release, it will come with 3G and 4G services, with the 4G service not having an additional costs on the phone directly.

Come June, will you be tempted to purchase the HTC EVO 4G?

Hell Ya! I am so anxiously awaiting, but it would be good to know one official date and end this once for all.

    • Dave

June 13th can't come fast enough! So excited!

  • Ant

What version of droid is the HTC evo going to be using?

I am buying 2 of the EVO 4g phones the day they come out, unless for some freak reason the Iphone becomes available for Sprint, then I will have to look at it, because I could then eliminate my old Ipod classic.

  • Raphsky

I can hardly sleep. Please come out soon

this phone can't get here fast enough…wonder what the price is …i've ready 200 with contract renewal

  • Lisa

I have had the same nasty little phone for two and a half years, I am ready to renew my contract and the only phone worthy of my $150 discount is the EVO!!! My phone has buttons not working, it doesn't ring consistantly, and it's been through hell and back… I'm not sure it can last past June so they really really need to make sure the EVO is out at the start of June.
Another date I've been hearing is June 5th. Some sort of countdown promotion? 06/05/4G!

Come on Sprint! Give me the EVO already!

  • Faraz

I'm glad to hear that they're not gonna charge a premium to have access to 4G speeds. At least, I hope that's not the case otherwise I'm going to be really disappointed.

I've been w/ Spring for over 2 years and its a great network so I'm definitely excited for this phone.

  • Paul Barrett

No "tempted" about it – this is my next phone.
I've had a full Sprint rebate available for almost a year but desperate as I am to upgrade, there was nothing they had that I wanted till this. Can't wait.

  • Ex-pre

I am so in. Sorry Palm Pre. Nice OS but horrid hardware. I would pay whatever list is for this phone.

  • soanxious4EVO

i gotta get that!! my sidekick contract with tmobile is over at the end of May so im definantly paying the $200 to get the phone && switch to Sprint. its gonna b the hottest phone out!

  • mike

Just prepay at Best Buy to reserve your phone, dont bother with BS lines. That is what I did with the Verizon Droid. Then I strolled in the next day at my convenience and demanded my "reserved" phone. I've had a couple issues in the past doing this where they sold my "reserved" item and then I get discounts out the wazzo and express shipping and all kinds of fall at your feet service, especially when you take your cam with you and record the incident and threaten to post it on you-tube ROFL. ps, be loud and make a big scene, make sure lots of people start looking. Helps to add the sentence, I paid you in good faith and you thief'ed my hard earn money LOL.

I have to say I love the 'concept' of the palm pre – it is a great software – but the PHONE SUCKS! I've had more dropped calls from the one line I have my Palm Pre On, compared to my HTC HD2 and my 3 other Samsung phones and sitting in the same spot.
