Volkswagen bik.e: Electric Bicycle to keep in Spare Tire Compartment

If you have ever ran out of fuel in your vehicle (I have many times) you will know how annoying it can be to walk to the nearest gas station, however a product recently unveiled by Volkswagen aims to make this a thing of the past.
What they have designed is an electric bicycle, this is being dubbed the bik.e and is powered by batteries, the bike is fold-able and fits into the spare tire area in your trunk.
The pedal-less bike can reach a top speed of 12.5 miles per hour and the batteries can power the bike for a maximum of 12.5 miles, in most cases this should get you to and from a gas station to refuel your car.
Obviously the bike won’t just come in handy when you run out of fuel, it is also very useful if you cannot park near to your workplace, simply park-up, assemble your bike (apparently a quick and easy process) and ride to work.
Currently it is unclear as to how you charge your bik.e, I think it would be great if it could charge within your car and in the home, check out the video below and tell us what you think about the bik.e.
