Bitbop: Stream TV and Movies to your BlackBerry, Soon to be Android

By Posted 28 Apr 2010, 18:19

WES 2010 continues to impress, and it seems as though one of the most inventive and fascinating applications has made an appearance in the way of Bitbop, which allows the user to steam and download your favorite movies and television shows to your BlackBerry device with the use of 3G or your existing WiFi connection.

The application itself does not come with any annoying adverts like its sister application ‘Hulu,’ but does have a price, but at $10 pcm, who can argue? That is cheaper than nipping down your local DVD rental shop and renting a DVD or two (or three even) for the evening.

The Office and 30 Rock are some of the popular television series’ that it will contain, and will even adjust the resolution depending on your bandwidth.

Question is, would you use the service? If you spend most time at home near a television or computer like me, you probably wouldn’t, but if you are a businessman who travels frequently on business trips you could have all your favorite television shows at the touch of a button without having to miss any.

The Bitbop service is scheduled to launch this spring on the BlackBerry, with an Android version also in the works. If you are interested in checking out the service before launch, you can always sign up for the beta which can be found here.

What are your thoughts on Bitbop?
