BenQ is increasing its digital camera lineup with the new E1260 HDR High Dynamic Range) Camera. This new camera offers 12-megapixels and a 4x optical zoom – not much compared to some of the latest compact cameras hitting the market. However, its 720p video recording more than makes up for this.

The BenQ E1260 HDR does offer some other nice features, such as its 2.7-inch LCD screen, HDR image enhancement technology, G-Sensor application and much more. Most of this does sound much the same as you get on other phones, but remember that you will be getting the BenQ build quality.

One or two features does make this camera much more fun than its rivals, such as the above mentioned HDR technology, which helps to make even the darkest and brightest details stand out. The end result is perfect detailed photos most of the time.

Engadget does not offer any price details, but they do report that the E1260 will be launched in May, and will come in a choice of two colors – Metallic Gun-Metal Gray” and “Metallic Blue”. For more details visit the BenQ website.
