BlackBerry users will have a smile on their face today as RIM have officially announced the release of the BlackBerry Pearl 3G. This comes hours after the news was leaked prior to the official keynote at WES, where they also announced the BlackBerry Bold 9650 which we covered here.
As with all other recent BlackBerry phones, the device comes with a QWERTY keyboard and optical trackpad. But this time RIM have decided to include their SureType style keyboard which doubles up with two letters per numbered key.
The Pearl 3G also comes standard with quadband GSM and triband UMTS with rumors that North American and European versions could be released soon. The handset measures in at 108 x 50 x 13.3 mm and comes with Bluetooth and WiFi b/g/n connectivity as standard.
RIM have also decided to release the phone in two flavors, the Pearl 9105 being the other will stable a regular numeric keyboard instead, and both will come with a 3.2 megapixel camera which comes with autofocus, flash and image stabilization.
Obviously, one of the most important factors of the phone will be the price, and RIM have not released any information regarding this as of yet, but due to several leaks over the Internet throughout the week, you can expect to see the phone released on Bell, Telus and Rogers in Canada.
