Microsoft’s Xbox Live TV Channel: Do you want it?

We have some interesting news to share with you now, which we have a feeling that Xbox 360 owners won’t particularly like too much. It has been reported that Microsoft are thinking about the possibility of adding a dedicated TV channel to their Xbox Live service.

It sounds good at first doesn’t it? But it probably won’t when you hear that Microsoft are planning to bump up Xbox Live Gold prices by $1 or $2 to make way for these changes.

According to this report over at Eurogamer, Microsoft has already been in discussion with former News Corp. president Peter Chernin about the service. If it goes ahead, it is thought that Chernin will co-own the channel with Microsoft and it will feature original TV shows as well as scheduled repeats.

At the moment, Microsoft charge customers $7.99 in the U.S for a months access to Xbox Live Gold, while 360 owners in the UK are charged £4.99 a month. At the moment, nothing has been set in stone, but it looks like a strong possibility here folks.

What are your thoughts on this? Many of you feel it is too expensive as it is – would you pay extra for this TV channel or not? We have created a poll for you to have your opinion. Personally, I don’t think this is a clever move for Microsoft.
