Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii): Screenshots Confirm Multiplayer

The release of Super Mario Galaxy 2 is just over a month away (May 23rd), therefore it is no surprise that Nintendo are beginning to leak trailers and screenshots of the game, a recently released screenshot appears to show that this game will feature a new multiplayer game mode.

The image (seen here) shows the game with two controllable characters, one of which is Mario and the other is Luma, the picture clearly shows seperate WiiMote’s controlling different characters.

From what we can see it looks as if Mario will be the main character (as you would expect), this seems to be the case as Mario is being controlled by a WiiMote and Nunchuk, whereas Luma is only being controlled by a WiiMote.

  • …it could be a new 2-player mode, or it could be just like the previous game & the second player could use a second Wii remote to control a second star cursor with which to grab star bits, stun enemies & give Mario a boosted jump. We won't know until either Nintendo reveals it, or until the game is released…
