Lexus GX 460 Recall Denied by Toyota: Tests Ongoing

We reported to you a few days back regarding the stability issue with the 2010 Lexus GX 460, which you can see in this video. Toyota is taking this problem seriously, but has denied that they have issued a recall of the sports utility vehicle.

This latest development will not do any good to the credibility to Toyota as a brand, considering that they have been plagued with recall issues over the past few months – mostly due to accelerator issues. The Japanese automaker will not make a decision to recall the 2010 Lexus GX 460 while tests are ongoing.

Associated Press reports that Toyota has stopped sales of the GX460 in the U.S. while they carry out test to try and duplicate what Consumer Reports did. The automaker is unsure what the problem could be, but it is assumed that it is a problem with the electronic stability control, as it kicks in to late.

I am no engineer, but maybe all that is needed is an adjustment to make the ESC kick in a little sooner?
