Apple iPad: Release date delayed by one month (International)

By Alan Ng - Apr 14, 2010

Some very disappointing news to bring to our UK readers now, as Apple has confirmed this morning that the international release of the iPad has been delayed by one month.

As reported from Apple Insider, Apple states that demand for the iPad has been overwhelming, higher than the company predicted – with more than 500,000 iPads sold in the first week on sale in the U.S.

A portion of the press release issued by Apple reads: “Faced with this surprisingly strong US demand, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the international launch of iPad by one month, until the end of May.”

So there we have it. For those of you who opted against importing the device – today is a very dark day for you. Apple will now have he iPad available again at the end of May.

What are your thoughts on this? Are you temped to pay a higher price to import now, or will you wait until the new release date?
