When it comes to the iPhone 4G, Verizon customers still hang on to the hope that they will be getting the best selling handset some time this year. There was a glimmer of hope just recently when WSJ wrote an article confirming that the Verizon iPhone would be released in September.

However, there have been a number of analysts that doubt that a CDMA version of Apple’s smartphone will happen anytime soon and state that it will be a drain on the carrier’s resources. According to Ed Sutherland from Cult of Mac, Bank of America analyst David Lynch recently told investors that if Verizon would get the iPhone this year, they would not get a return for their money until 2013.

We reported last week that Verizon Wireless CEO Ivan Seidenberg had told Apple that they were ready for the iPhone and that the decision was in their call.
