Nintendo 3DS: New platform is the way forward say Nintendo

We have more news on the Nintendo 3DS now, as Nintendo’s Reggie-Fils Aime has revealed that the company will be treating the 3DS as their ‘next handheld platform’.
As reported from VG247, Reggie was speaking in a recent interview with Business Week when he revealed the news.
It looks like the original DS and DSi may be ‘phased out’ in the future, as Aime had this to say: “We have ideas of what we want to bring to the consumer that we can’t do with the current DS model.”
Well with the way things are going, it looks like 3D is the way forward – so this seems like a logical step on Nintendo’s part. We wouldn’t be surprised if Microsoft unveil a 3D-capable console at E3 this year to keep up with Sony and Nintendo.
