Nexus One Verizon: Missing in Action (MIA)

By Peter Chubb - Apr 13, 2010

We had assumed that the Nexus One would be released on the Verizon carrier during CTIA 2010 on March 23 – that date has been and gone and still nothing. It is as if the Google Android superphone is Missing in Action (MIA). So what is taking both companies so long?

There have been so many rumors as to why the Verizon version of the Google Nexus One has yet to make it to the carrier, the most recent being a possible upgrade to Android OS 2.7. There is no proof of this, so could just be a typo, that’s according to OZCAR.

If rumors of a new version of Android are true, then we wonder what changes Google have in store? There was also a rumor that there was to be more color choices – again there is no proof of this. Another reason for the delay was thought to be dues to the HTC and Apple lawsuit.

Latest reports suggest that the Verizon Nexus One will be ready for launch sometime next week – watch this space.

The Apple lawsuit is not the reason for the Nexus One delay. The HTC Incredible is also cited in that lawsuit yet is releasing April 29th. Doesn't make a lot of sense pointing the finger at the Apple lawsuit.
