Leaked: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1)

By Posted 13 Apr 2010, 15:11

We reported to you an update on the release date for Microsoft Windows Service Pack 1, we have just learned that a leaked version of this operating system update has been showing on BitTorrent sites. We would advise that you do now download this pirated version.

This leaked version of SP1 shows that it is build 6.1.7601.16537.100327-0053. According to Gregg Keizer from PCWorld, thousands of copies have already been downloaded. We do not known if anyone has had any problems when downloading this update; we all know how these BitTorrent sites are.

Microsoft recently said that the Windows 7 Service Pack 1 would only come with a few update, such as patches and hot fixes. One of these features was a new RemoteFX, which we discussed in a recent post.

Microsoft is yet to announce a release date just yet for SP1, maybe they are not as worried as they have been with recent versions of Windows. Let us know if you have risked downloading a leaked copy of SP1.

Hey just installed pirated SP1 and seems to run about the same. No major increases. Running on Lenovo X60.

I wonder if they really meant to say "We advise you do NOT download the pirated version."???
