Are you a regular user of the Tweetie Application for the iPhone? If you are, you’ll be interested to know that Twitter has announced that they’ll be buying the application from Apple, making it the official Twitter application for iPhone.
As reported from Pocket-Lint, Tweetie is currently a third-party app, and has been developed by Loren Brichter. It costs $3 to download, but Twitter say that the application will now be free as part of the plan to make it the official app for Twitter.
Meanwhile, Brichter will now join the Twitter mobile team and start work on a ‘Twitter for iPad’ application. Twitter states that the move will now make it easier for iPhone users to identify Tweetie as the ‘official’ app for Apple’s handset.
