By Jamie Pert - Apr 12, 2010

Today Microsoft have launched Visual Studio 2010 and .Net 4, from what we can see both products have been significantly developed when compared to previous versions.

Visual Studio 2010 is said to support Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Azure, SQL Server, Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010, one great thing about this latest version is that there will be UML support and improved multicore support.

Visual Studio 2010 has been tested for around 11 months now, therefore you would have thought that the official release will be pretty stable and bug free (hopefully).

The other release .Net 4 is said to be much smaller than predecessors (81% infact), this version will add support for Microsoft Dynamic Language Runtime (DLR), according to Microsoft this new version is a workflow-centric and service-oriented application.

Pricing of Visual Studio 2010 varies depending on which version you choose, for full versions prices start at $799 up to $11,899, if you are upgrading to this latest version prices start at $549, you can see all prices and relevant information here.
