Hyundai Genesis vs 2011 Mustang vs 2010 Camaro and Challenger

There is no denying that most males and a select few woman love a muscle car head-to head, and the guys over at Motor Trend were only too happy to offer us something truly remarkable. What we have for you here is a shoot-out with the 2010 Dodge Challenger, 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, 2011 Ford Mustang – First Drive – and a Hyundai Genesis Coupe.

All versions of these cars come with a V6 engine, Autoblog first thought that the Genesis did not belong in the lineup, but looking more closely at the specs – it was right at home. So how does this 305 horsepower car handle itself compared to the best muscle that America has to give in the V6 range?

You will be suspired to here that the Genesis Coupe beat the other three cars – that will not make the American automakers happy. Below is the order in MT comparison review:

  • 4th place: Dodge Challenger SE
  • 3rd place: Chevrolet Camaro RS
  • 2nd place: Ford Mustang V-6
  • 1st place: Hyundai Genesis 3.8 Track

Is there no credibility left at MT? Sheesh. The 2011 Mustang V6 beat all cars in every objective category and was $6,000 less expensive than the winner!

Why did MT pick the Genesis Coupe? "It was more fun to drive." Try using that excuse on the track or street! ROFL.

In the future, MT should consider price, not number of cylinders when doing car comparisons. I'm surprised MT didn't throw in a Porsche since it also has a 6-cylinder.

    Journalistic comedy. Bad job, MT.

It's probably a pretty good car, but a little unfair to the Mustang to summary judge it's interior options based solely on a price mark up. I mean come on, that Mustang had the cheapest interior you can get on a Mustang, and you're comparing it to a fully loaded Hyundai Genesis and basing it all off opinion of those respective cars. Of course the Hyundai Genesis is going to seem like a better sports car! Leather seats > Cloth seats.

Why are they comparing a light weight econobox with a big v6 to a heavy musclecar? Not in the same car category. Then Genitals is a repackaged Tiburon not a car style of its own.
