Xbox 360 Live Update: Has it been hacked already?

Following on from our previous article which told you about the latest Xbox 360 update and its hidden features, we are hearing numerous reports that hackers have already gained access to the system files.
As reported from Xboxic, Xbox 360-system files are unreadable when using USB flash drives at the moment, but a group of modders have bypassed the encryption of these files and are now aiming to create a program that extracts the content to a PC desktop.
Xboxic points out, that once the program becomes public, it could lead to sharing gamesaves and the modification of gamerpics and themes. There is a screenshot up at Xboxic which shows the current progress of the exploit.
What are your thoughts on this? We expect Microsoft are working working on a patch to combat this.
