By Alan Ng - Apr 7, 2010

We have an interesting article for you to read now, in which gaming great Hideo Kojima states that home consoles will meet their demise in ‘the near future’. Worrying signs ahead perhaps?

As reported from VG247, Kojima was speaking at a recent press conference for Monster Hunter in Japan when he revealed the news.

Instead of being tied down to home consoles, Kojima believes that gamers should be able to have their experiences on the go, explaining that in the future, we will have games that don’t depend on any platform.

What are your thoughts on this? Is this another way of saying that Kojima isnt a fan of console exclusives? Check out his full comments over at VG247, then let us know what you think of this.

That won't happen until the mobile devices no longer have displays that are limited by the devices physical size. Is that really that close? Even if it is I suspect most people will end up using their mobile devices at home for gaming anyway.
