The Apple iPad has now been on the market for four days now and is enjoying some alone time before rival tablets make their presence felt. We know that the iPad is a great device but lacks certain functions – will these 15 rival tablets be able to take advantage of these weaknesses, or will their shortcomings prove too much?
There is a range of tablets about to hit the market in 2010, which will be the year of the tablet – much like 2009 was the year of the netbook. Those on offer will run on different operating systems, such as Android and Windows 7.
The first up is the HP Slate, which we recently offered your price and spec details. This is not its official name and was not the Microsoft Courier that we had hoped to see at CES 2010.
The Fusion Garage JooJoo was seen for the first time a few days ago, which we now have a review for you. This is much larger than the iPad- offering a 12.1-inch display.
The Dell Mini 5 is a strange one; this only offers a 5-inch screen – so only about 1-inch larger than a smartphone. One of the newest ones we have seen is the Asus Eee Pad; we have seen the success that this computer maker has had in the netbook market- so we expect the same in the tablet market.
These are just a handful of the 15 new tablets coming in 2010, for more details on these, visit PCWorld
