A useful new app that allows for emergency and medical personal communicate with Spanish patients has just been released for the iPhone and iPod Touch devices. Medical Point2 Spanish 1.0 cleverly translates phrases on to the device screen.
Released by InterLingua Medical Publishing, the app is the latest addition to popular Medical Point2 library that includes audio language lessons, card decks, and translated medical books. As nearly one in eight people living in the US speak Spanish, quite often a communication problem can arise in emergency rooms across the country. Medical Point 2 is one of the top 100 downloaded medical apps downloaded from iTunes.
The app works by phrases being translated onto the device screen so the medical or emergency personal can point to it to ask patients important questions. This helps to avoid any risks when treating someone who speaks a different language. The questions contained in the app have been developed by health professionals. Patient data can be stored for easy access for future reference.
Medical Point2 Spanish is on the App Store for only $0.99. iPhone or I Pod Touch required with OS 3.0 or later.
