
New York Auto Show 2010: 2012 Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid
By: Jamie Pert | April 1, 2010 | Leave a CommentAnother vehicle which has been revealed at the New York Auto Show 2010 is the 2012 Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid, this hybrid is apparently built on the same platform as the Porsche Cayenne Hybrid.
This hybrid features a sleek and slim design which is backed up by a supercharged V-6 Audi engine combined with an electric motor.
The V-6 engine combined with the electric motor produces 380 horsepower, whilst the electric motor itself produces a pretty impressive 47 horsepower.
Performance of the 2012 Touareg is alo pretty impressive, it is said to be capable of a top speed of 150mph and can go from 0-60 in just 6.5 second, this is aided by the eight-speed automatic transmission.
Definite details regarding pricing and a release date are currently unknown, however it is expected to cost at least $60,000, for more details check out the link below.
