2011 BMW Alpina B7: New York Auto Show 2010

By Daniel Chubb - Apr 1, 2010

When we saw the pictures of BMW’s new Alpina B7 xDrive to say we were excited would have been an understatement, and if you like your big saloon’s we’re sure you will agree that BMW’s latest performance offering is something to behold.

Engine spec is all important on Alpina’s and this one has the popular BMW 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, but obviously vastly tuned to produce 500 horsepower at 516 Ib-ft of torque. This allows the big 7 Series to destroy 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds, and that’s with your wife and three kids in the car.

The new B7 is fitted with xDrive which will allow you to get all the power down through BMW’s AWD system. Mix that with the fact that it can brake from 60 to 0 mph in an identical distance to a Porsche Turbo. To finish off the B7 is fitted with the outstandingly beautiful Alpina body kit and twenty spoke wheels with the valve stems cleverly hidden within the lockable centres.
