iPhone 4G (2010) vs. 5G (2011): What we need to know?

Much has been said about the Apple iPhone 4G – these include rumors of a summer 2010 release and the features that it will offer. However, we have noticed a current trend that an iPhone 5G will be coming in 2011. So what do we really know about these two versions?

The first thing that needs to be made clear is the fact that the rumored iPhone 4G will not offer 4G/LTE speeds – this just means that it is the 4th-generation smarphone from Apple. However, we recently learned that Apple has a job listing for someone familiar with LTE.

This means that Apple are working on a full 4G working iPhone, but it will not be this year for a number of reason. One of those reasons is that AT&T are a long way off with its 4G development – as the carrier is making improvements to its current 3G data service first.

So what do we expect to see with the rumored iPhone 4G in June? I would say that it would not have all the amazing features that have been suggested to us. If you are hoping for a new design – such as some of the concept HD or Pro handsets we have seen – then we think you will be disappointed.

The 2010 model will have a few new features, these could include an improved camera, improved battery performance – which will be thanks to a newer version of the iPhone OS.

As for the Apple iPhone 5G, this is the model that will look totally different – maybe something like those concepts that we mentioned above. This new model could also come with newer hardware, such as a declocked iPad A4 processor, OLED screen and iPhone OS 4.0. Do not expect any Flash Player support, Steve Jobs already announced that they would never support this, as it is too buggy – instead preferring to go down the HTML 5 option.

      For MANY people, and MORE to come, flash is NOT going to be a WANT, but A NECESSITY… With my financial institution going to FLASH BASED LOGIN, any "smartphone" without flash will be WORTHLESS! Afterall, WHAT is MORE important than access to your MOST USED RESOURCE, which for me is my FINANCES? And NO, I won't leave a credit union for a bank; And NO, I can't control how financial institutions want to operate online access and transactions! The iPad would be worthless for the SAME reason… Is this the trend for Apple, to ignore the customer base's NEED for access to finances? To include important detail for reasonable analysis, the CU I speak of is NOT a small one.         Too many security risks with Flash, and with HTML 5 on the horizon there is really no incentive for Apple to support an aging technology.

          flash does more than any html will ever be able to do. Flash it not aging, HTML is. It seems unfair you can make new HTML versions yet you state flash is aging? Yet flash keeps growing.

          If you really think thats why apple dont support flash then stop being so naive. The number 1 reason is it would destroy the app store completely, flash can make any app and quicker. It would also mean easy hacks into the OS, maybe free calls, whole load of open source and basically financially stupid decision to support flash.

          I dont see how HTML 5 can even be compared to flash.

          Flash does not have security issues that HTML/ javascript/ajax dont contain.

          Banks dont use flash because why on earth would you use flash for logins? Too difficult to update.

          Anti flash people are just being rather ridiculous. Apple dont want to support something that will lose them a lot of money. Its common sense.

            Obviously know nothing about HTML 5, or flash for that matter. Flash can be very easy to update, it can be used to read a separate XML file, or text files. The implementation is more time consuming, but i guess the quality of visuals can be worth the effort.

            I’m not against flash, it has it’s uses, there’s just better ways to do things today, jQuery, and HTML 5 are a step in a better direction.

            HTML 5 is still in its infancy, and not scheduled for any real release until around 2022 anyway, and won’t have sufficient populous penetration for a while…

        Flash is outdated, overweight, and too heavy on the resources.
        HTML5 is better in every way.
        Why would Apple want to support that?
        If your financial institution is worth their salt they will already have an iPhone app available.
        If they cant be bothered to hire at least ONE Cocoa programmer then maybe you need to either give up on having an iPhone, or just get a Blackberry and forget about it.

        tell ur credit union to make an iphone app. simple. its not apples fault, maybe you need a better credit union, or use the (widely-available) non-flash version, as all flash websites have this

      Ehhh most banks and financial institutions don't use flash… at all…let alone for login…Also most banks of any substancial size, they either have their own iPhone app, or at least a version of their website that is iPhone specific… I would absolutely be questioning your bank here… not Apple!

      Apple's trend is they will come out with a product and only update a few things just for that year for their revenue, they do this so they can add something else to it the following year in order to make another profit without wasting any cash flow/ finances/ etc.

      Apple purposely does this because Steve Job knows how stupid people are and how they will waste their money on a MacBook Air or an iPad or an iPhone that has only one update on it. Like iPhone 3GS compared to iPhone 3G…one has video recording the other one doesn't! hahahahaha BRILLIANT!

      Take Microsoft for example. They PURPOSELY come out with an OS that has buggs in them and are prone to viruses cause of crap security and no firewall unlike Apple.
      1. MS has partnership with Norton Anti Virus so the people are forced to try or buy that software and MS makes money
      2. MS wants money now and doesn't care about their customers. So they purposely will come out with a terrible OS, in order to come out with a little bit better one next year so on and so on in order to make money off of the World every year.

      Shit if I owned a company that manufactures 95% of the World's PCs I would probably do the same thing.

      Ahh the trues of the Business Industry…raping people of their money…I LOVE IT! ^.^

      But hands down to Apple cause the way they program with C is amazing compared to MS. Not only that, Apple Macs aren't as prone to Viruses as PCs and also with Macbooks it is a lot easier to program…like programming your own firewalls for example…and multiplying that by 100…Oh yeah! Apples the Shit!

      Peoples should invest their money into research and development of their own technological products instead of wasting their money on Public Manufactures that are trying to have a Monopoly over the entire global technology industry. ^.^ Just a small advice, no hard feelings.

      On an irrelevant side note…
      I got the HTC T8585 HD2 Leo phone with the 1GHz Quallcom processor 4.3 touch screen with 5MG pixel camera and Dual LED Flash….
      I compared it with the iPhone 3GS…
      and its only 400MHz faster which is noticeable but not really at the same time and the GUI of the iPhone beats any WM phone any day.
      So I leave it to you to decide

      Have you guy seen an Android phone running Flash 10.1??? That thing is so slow, internet in mobile devices is slow enough as it is, I don't need to see all the advertisements made in flash, they r so annoying.

      Scratch proof more grip and a pen and it needs to have most of the apps htc desire has and more megaixel and and it needs to have when u turn the hone off auto charge and needs louder sound system and it needs its own network and needs to be touch screen and needs to have a i phone messenger thingy and others.

      What is it with everyone referring to the iPhone 4 as iPhone 4G? There is no such thing!! iPhone 4 is 3G compatible only. The 4G network is only just emerging. The iPhone 5 is rumoured to have 4G network capability. We'll have to wait until mid 2011 to find out.
