HTC Incredible Verizon: Doppelganger of Nexus One

We know that the HTC Incredible is coming to Verizon Wireless, and although this is great news – it has raised a burning question, will it be a Google Nexus One doppelganger? We are certain that these two smartphone will always be compared with each other, and for good reason.

Phones Review studied an article on Wireless and Mobile News, where they asked if the HTC Incredible was more than just a red version of the Nexus One with an added trackpad?

When you put the two smartphone side-by-side in a spec shootout, things are pretty even, except for a few differences. Such as the camera, the Google Nexus One has a 5-migepixel while the HTC Incredible packs an 8-megapixel camera.

Things look far better for the Incredible over the Nexus One, not only does it come with Android 2.1, but HTC Sense UI as well. See more specs here

If you had to choose what would it be, HTC Incredible or Nexus One?

In a choice between Nexus One and Incredible, market forces may influence the decision heavily. Consider the apparent Google decision to manage sales of the N1 separately, likely meaning that there won't be a Verizon subsidy available in order to buy the N1 phone.

With that in mind, the HTC likely will be Verizon subsidized, therefore; the choice may be more of one based upon economics. Basically, you'll be getting a better phone at a cheaper price unless Google comes up with a way to market a Verizon subsidized version of the Nexus One.

    HTC incredible…
    More features…
Cheaper to use with verizon plans
    better camera
Better customer support at this time
Local stores where you can take for service
Best network is verizon for 3g

If the Nexus 1 does not come with VZW rebate and NE2 rebates…it will make my choice for the HTC a lot easier next month.

So I been hearing all over the Net that these two phones are being released. So when? Does anyone really know when? There is a lot of hype but no phones. I have been waiting patiently for a while now to get a new Andriod that is lighter and smaller than the Droid. I am leaning now towards dropping my Verizon service and going ATT I Phone at this point.

I was all set to buy the Nexus One, but am now going to buy the HTC Incredible due to one little feature: FM receiver. This way, I don't need to carry a separate device to listen to the TV when working out at the gym.

What difference does it make?. Verizon appears to have little interest in selling either. Maybe Verizon's big plan is to have their entire customer base fall asleep or go over to AT&T or Sprint. Big ol kludge of a corporation.

"red" version refers to the Verizon brand. You know, Big Red. The statement was asking if the Incredible is just a verizon version of the Nexus one
