BlackBerry BIS 3.0 Update: Release date and huge downtime
By: Alan Ng | March 21, 2010 | 1 CommentWe have some good (or bad!) news for BlackBerry owners now, as RIM has confirmed a release date for the highly anticipated update to BIS 3.0. It will happen next weekend, with an long downtime expected during the process.
As reported from BGR, the update to BIS 3.0 will take place next Sunday on March 28th. RIM has stated that the update will occur between 2AM and 6AM EDT, meaning that BlackBerry’s entire internet services will be out of action for a full four hours.
Not so bad for those of you in the East coast, but not great for all of you in the West. Since you know the date and time now, it is advised to start making preparations for the downtime.
Let us know your thoughts on this. Details on the update itself can be found over at BGR.
