Blackberry Verizon Owners: iPhone on AT&T, would you?

By Updated on

The results of a recent survey shows that BlackBerry Verizon owners still covet the iPhone, you would have thought that this would have stopped by now – well it has been three years since Apple launched into the smartphone market. So owners of these RIM handsets still crave for more?

RIM thought that the iPhone would not bother them, as it was more for the consumer rather than business as Blackberry handsets are. However, they were wrong and knew that business users were starting to take ownership of these new touchscreen smartphones.

RIM knew they had to act, which is where the Blackberry Storm and Storm 2 comes in. RIM tried to offer its users a touch interface like Apple does with its iPhone, but we all now about the problems those handsets had. It seemed that no matter what RIM did, Verizon customers would not get an iPhone alternative.

There are those who have an iPhone on AT&T for personal use and then a BlackBerry on Verizon for work – that way they will always have a signal. Verizon customers do have more choice now with Android handsets, but that still does not stop those with a BlackBerry wanting an iPhone.

By far the iphone is the hottest phone on the market, howvever AT& T's service is horrible. I believe if the iphone was offered to Verizon Customers, AT&T would have some some other issues as well….

Would LOVE to leave my BB Storm for an iPhone. However AT&T's service is a deal breaker for me, especially when traveling. Never leaving Verizon.

I agree, my BB Verizon contract is up in September this year and if there is no iPhone on Verizon, I’m moving to AT&T.

AT&T service is non-existent around here… I have a Blackberry World phone and would swap in a New York Minute for an iPhone on Verizon.

I have been with Verizon for 9 years with my personal phone, and AT&T for three years with my work phone.

I just dumped my iPhone and AT&T after being on it for a year, and paid for the early termination fee. I was sick of continual dropped calls and no service available. And I live in Houston, TX.

The iPhone is a toy. It is just more “cool-factor” crap from Apple. Keep drinking their KoolAid if you like.

IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT LEAVING VERIZON TO MOVE OVER TO AT&T, YOU ARE IN FOR A RUDE AWAKENING. MOST LONGTIME AT&T USERS THINK THAT DROPPED CALLS ARE AS NORMAL AS BREATHING. They do not know any better. And it will only get worse with the addition of the iPad and the iPhone 4.

    Other reasons for leaving AT&T:

    – VERY Long hold times for customer service

    – Getting switched to 7 different AT&T reps before the problem is solved.

    – HORRID service level. Dropped calls EVERY DAY at the same locations on the freeway.

    – No service in the middle of Houston TX, in many different locations.

    – No service after leaving the vicinity of most major highways or Interstates.

    – 3G coverage area that is 10% of what Verizon’s is

    – Continual lies on TV commercials about their network being the fastest with the best coverage.

When you want a real phone that works, that never drops calls, move over to Verizon.
