The new iPhone 4G is set to further Palm’s problems, this is according to Maynard Um analyst for UBS. Palm’s sales are reported to be “slower than expected”, for the Pixi, Pri and latest Plus devices.
Um also said he believes that Palm must “drive greater scale” to up its profitability with both AT&T and Verizon. Growth is more likely for Palm through Verizon as iPhone is said to dominate AT&T’s marketing activities into August.
Forecasts from the analyst also say that Motorola is more likely to remain stable with its sales, due to solid numbers of Android-based handsets.
Following the previous generation launch trends, it is expected that Apple will release the new iPhone sometime in June. Head over to electronista for a full report.
