By: Gary Johnson | March 18, 2010 | Leave a CommentA new app for teaching the art of playing the piano has been launched for the iPhone and iPod Touch devices. Etude 1.0 teaches piano playing combining an on-screen keyboard with traditional sheet music.
Developed by Wonder Warp Software, Etude 1.0 comes with five songs preloaded, and has over 200 free songs via an in-app store. The MIDI synthesizer plays the song aloud, as the keys light up on the keyboard to reveal which notes are being played. Users have the option of slowing down the piece of music for easier learning.
Etude 1.0 allows people to share music with their friends via Twitter and Facebook. The app also lets users to see and hear how a certain song should be played. Developers are currently working on an iPad version to be released soon after the launch of the Apple iPad. Find Etude 1.0 on the App Store for $2.99. Requires OS 3.1 or later.
